LOOK ELSEWHERE!!! Yesterday my aunt and I spent one hour with attorney Marcus Burgher. She lost her husband in December and wanted to make out a new will. He asked her if my uncle had a will and she gave it to him. He said he would write the new will ($150), create a POA ($50), and probate my uncles will ($400-$500). My uncle’s will gave everything to my aunt and since everything was held jointly it didn’t make sense to us to have to probate it. I then called a probate attorney and he said there was absolutely no reason to probate the will. I called Mr. Burgher back and told him we did not want the will probated and that we would pick it up when we picked the new will up. He said that if we didn’t trust his opinion then we needed to come pick up our paperwork and find a new lawyer. Today my aunt tried to do just that and Mr. Burgher told her he would not give her back my uncles will until she paid him $50. He then handed her a bill for a consultation fee. Not only is he unethically holding personal property of my aunts, he also gave her terrible advice about probating a will, and he refused to write a new will for her. So in my humble opinion this makes Mr. Burgher a BULLY, A THIEF, AND A VERY BAD LAWYER. Who tells a 71 year old recently widowed woman he will not write her will and he will not give her back her late husband's will unless she pays him $50??!! STEER CLEAR, A CHEAP LAWYER IS WORTH WHAT YOU PAY!!!!
Called trying to get some advice, only to get interrupted by the receptionist several times who was running over me. I just ended the conversation with a thanks for your time...i have no idea if the lawyers and good or horrible at their job but the office staff is terrible
