Sunday evening, lots of shoppers, and some shelves getting low but it looked like all hands on deck. All checkouts open and moving quickly. Lots of staff up front and in the aisles. Impressive.
I know there are several people that have worked there for years that would be perfect for the management position. It needs to be someone local. Someone who loves Corydon and takes pride in living here.
Kindof expensive.....even with the supposed discount. If you do not have a jayc or kroger card, then get one-or dont shop here. Even with the card, expect to pay 20% more than if you had shopped at wal mart.
Managers have changed quite a lot in the last few years, they seem to be trying to find a rhythm for that store, they can't seem to settle into good management. In my opinion the entire staff needs a rewrite.
To the Kroger conglomerate: Buy up the rest of the stores around it, expand it, and finally; Put the gas station back by the entrance off onto the back street instead of up front where all the traffic is coming in and out!
Always a pleasant visit there. Everyone friendly and helpful. Like the idea of directing to checkouts that are less busy. Love the light Kroger French Silk ice cream and the Pineapple Cocanut Yogurt they carry. Nice store with great people. This store have things the large super stores don't have. Like the sales they have on a variety of things and coupons I receive in mail.
It's a supermarket a smaller store clean and has everything needed. The deli not one of my favorites but clean and helpful. I don't like pre sliced meat they do this here to save time not sure of the benefits but not my thing. Also cashiers stand at the end of the aisle asking if your ready to check out. I know when I'm ready check out although nice has no benefit. Thier time would be better spent doing something else. The one thing that is great here you don't see often is there are several cashiers therefore lines are not ridiculous.
I am going to give them 3 Stars right now just because of the effort JC's owners have put into updating it. Everyone knows that the Kroger company conglomerate has bought JC's and they have put so little effort into updating this small store that it's going to continue to be small. It's not going to thrive the way that it should because they're putting their eggs in the wrong baskets.
This store needs a full update on the inside, and the outside. They put a gas station in a place that is already overcrowded. Talk about a bad idea.
